Located at 1800 Canal Dr., Carolina Beach, NC 28428, Freeman Park is the undeveloped north end of Carolina Beach, stretching from the end of Canal Drive all the way to the inlet near Masonboro Island. The park offers surf fishing, beach camping, swimming, crabbing and casting for minnows. Camping and Four-wheel drive access allowed with proper permits. Dogs are allowed in the park but are required to be on a leash from April 1st to September 30th. From October 1st to March 31, dogs are allowed off-leash as long as they remain under voice command and the owner is within a reasonable distance from the pet.
