Located at 101 NM-195, Elephant Butte, NM 87935, Elephant Butte lake State Park is 7 miles north of Truth or Consequences along the shore of Elephant Butte Reservoir. The largest state park in New Mexico, it surrounds the state’s largest reservoir. Besides sandy beaches, the State Park offers restrooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, and developed sites with electric and water hook-ups for RV’s. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the park and on the beach.
