Located at 425 Sandy Neck Road, West Barnstable, Ma 02668, Sandy Neck Beach Park is a coastal barrier beach, approximately 6 miles long, owned by the Town of Barnstable. It offers a public beach (Bodfish) with a parking lot, restrooms/changing facilities and a concession stand. In season (between Memorial Day and Labor Day) the beach is life guarded and a day pass or parking permit is required. The day pass is available at the Gatehouse. Sandy Neck also offers a front beach driving corridor which is available for permitted vehicles. This permit is obtainable for approved four-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles as well as two-wheel drive motor homes. The off road vehicle (ORV) permits are sold at the Sandy Neck Gatehouse. All dogs must be leashed year-round. Dogs are not allowed on Bodfish Beach (including the beach parking lots), from May 15th through September 15th. Bodfish Beach is the section of public bathing beach located in front of the Sandy Neck parking lots that is designated by “Lifeguard On Duty” signs. There are exceptions, please call the Gatehouse at 508-362-8300. Dogs are allowed on the Off Road Vehicle (ORV) Beach on a leash year-round. Vehicles with ORV permits are the only ones authorized to drive past the Gatehouse with a dog in the vehicle from May 15th to September 15th.
