Aer Lingus does not accept pets in the aircraft cabin. On flights within Europe only domestic cats, dogs and rabbits will be accepted for carriage on Aer Lingus Regional operated flights. On transatlantic flights all household pets (cats & dogs only) travelling to Ireland from North America must travel as cargo. Due to industry reports of serious damage to aircraft as a result of dogs becoming loose in aircraft holds, the following breeds of dogs are not to be carried under any circumstances on any Aer Lingus aircraft: Akita, American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Argentino, Fila Brazillero, Mastiff, Pit Bull Terrier, Tosa, and Rottweiler. The following snub-nosed / brachycephalic dogs or cats will not be carried due to their inability to breathe easily and cool themselves down: All Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, and Persian/Exotic Cats. When traveling from Ireland to North America household pets (cats & dogs only) can be booked as excess baggage by contacting Aer Lingus reservations.
